Jill Carrigan will be the new volleyball coach at Eagle Point High School for the 2007 season

Jill Carrigan

Carrigan, a Medford native, coached in Pueblo, Colorado, while still in college.  She previously played two seasons at Colorado State U., at Pueblo, before sustaining a career-ending injury.  Not satisfied that she’d had enough, Carrigan worked between classes with local high school players.
Her plans for the 2007 EPHS team pull the girls together more than just as a team, "more like a family."  The style of play will be like the Olympic Volleyball, with quick sets and a great deal of movement.
Several returning players will provide a good base for the first-year coach, and she is expecting the team to do well.  "I’m excited to be here," she says "we should have a good team."
Carrigan will teach math at EPHS, her first teaching assignment.  Eagle Point will be like a homecoming for her, with a father, brother and cousin all at the school.  She is 24.
