New EPHS principal named

Superintendent Cynda Rickert brought principals and administrative staff as well as school board members together last Friday to announ ce the selection of a new principal for Eagle Point High School.
Allen Barber, who spent six years as director of bands at South Medford High School, and in 2007 was assistant principal at the largest K-12 school in Florida will head EPHS.  After leaving South in 2006, he was assistant principal in a middle school in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
Barber was recognized for his achievements by the Kennedy Center for Outstanding Educators in 2005 and in 2006 was named Oregon Music Educator of the Year. 
Barber received his bachelor of arts and masters in education from Western Kentucky University.  And in 2006, he received his administrative leadership certification from Southern Oregon University.
"Mr. Barber brings outstanding experience and expertise in leadership and  school climate to our district," said Rickert.
