Rep. Gilman to run again

Rep. George Gilman (R-Medford) announced he will campaign for re-election in House District 55. The four-term State Representative filed paperwork today with the Secretary of State’s office, the first day of the 2008 filing period.

"I’ve been honored to represent the citizens of House District 55, and I’m looking forward to campaigning and earning a fifth term in the Oregon Legislature," Rep. Gilman said. "There are many important issues facing our large rural district, and I’m prepared to return to Salem and work on our priorities."

During the 2007 session, Rep. Gilman served as Vice-Chair of the House
Transportation Committee and as a member of the Joint Ways and Means
Transportation and Economic Development Subcommittee. If re-elected,
Rep. Gilman said he will continue to work to improve the transportation
infrastructure in rural Oregon to boost the economy and create jobs.

"During
a fifth term, I will work to achieve better roads and better schools
for rural Oregonians," Rep. Gilman said. "I will continue my fight for
24/7 State Police coverage on our highways, and a better business
environment for our farmers, ranchers and small business owners."
