Claude Burnham, 79, of Shady Cove, died Oct. 5, 2007 at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
Mr. Burnham was born Nov. 27, 1927 in Kalamzoo, Mich. To Claude A. Burnham and Dorothy Randell.
On Mar. 29, 1986, in Hayward, Calif., he married Lou Dudley, who survives. He served in the Army Air Force. He worked in quality assurance in the aerospace industry, including 15 years as an executive director in controlled explosives.
After retirement, he and his wife traveled for seven years during which
time he became a wood carver and then a sculptor. The Tucson, Arizona
newspaper described him as the "Grandpa Moses of the sculpting world,"
having turned to it at the age of 70.
The couple moved to Shady Cove in 2001. He was a member of the Moose Club in Shady Cove.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Mike Burnham of
Hollister, Calif.; two daughters, Claudia Williams, of Hollister and
Joelle Rose of San Jose, Calif., two step-children, Allen Quail and
David Olson; a brother, Richard Burnham of Kalamazoo, nine
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren
