Edwin J. Hayes. 80, of Eagle Point, died Oct. 15, 2007 at his home.
Mr. Hayes was born in August 1927 in Enid, Okla. In his youth he was a member of Hi & Y at 1st Church of the Nazarene. He served in the US Army in 1947. On June 6, 1952, he married Eleanor Hayes. After his marriage, he taught Sunday School at Medford Wesleyan Church where he was treasurer for 45 years.
He worked for Kogap Mfg. and Lumber Co. He and his wife owned and operated Flower Haven Florist for 40 years and loved raising beef cattle. He was a very loving and caring dad to his three daughters and will be missed greatly.
He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Friesen, of Eagle Point, Connie McUne of Coos Bay and Nancy Whetstone of Central Point; brothers, Calvin Hayes, of Talent, Norman Hayes of Billings, Mont., Donald Hayes and Robert Hayes, both of Jacksonville; sisters, LaVerne Denney of Oroville, Calif. and Dorthy Lee Wilcox of Santa Maria, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor.
A chapel memorial was held Oct. 19 at 1st Church of the Nazarene. Kevin Gowland officiated.
