The Brookside Inn expects to be open in the spring

White City will soon having something that has been badly needed in the Upper Rogue and that is a hotel with a convention center. The Brookside Inn, on Leigh Way across from Big R, will seat up to 175 in its convention center when it opens next spring.
A La Quinta franchise, The Brookside Inn spent many years in the "hopeful" stage, which meant it was prime for the rumor mill. Owners Tim Baker, a retired Jackson County Sheriff’s deputy, and Jim Bennett, a Realtor, have the 72 room motel well underway. It will be four stories, making it the tallest building in the Upper Rogue area and something that will be seen for some distance.
In addition to the convention center, which can be partitioned into several smaller rooms, there will be a commercial kitchen to serve it although the hotel will not include a restaurant. Other amenities will include an  indoor pool and an exercise room.
