Hwy 140 accident sends 3 to hospital

Three people were transported with non-life threatening injuries following a two vehicle traffic crash Sunday, Nov. 11 on Highway 140 east of White City.  Preliminary investigation indicates alcohol is a contributing factor in the crash.

On Nov. 11, at approximately 6:50 p.m. a 1996 Ford Contour four-door driven by Scott Michael Asberry, age not available, was westbound on Highway 140 near milepost 2 when it veered into the eastbound lane.  An eastbound 1988 Mazda 929 four-door driven by Sailennia Mae Pinazo, age not available, from Eagle Point, moved to the right shoulder in an attempt to avoid the Ford but was struck nearly head-on.

Asberry was transported to Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Pinazo and passenger, Kevin Paul Hawkins, age not available, from Eagle Point, were also transported to Rogue Valley Medical Center.
