The Shady Cove Police Department, with assistance from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI, is investigating a bank robbery that occurred at PremierWest Bank, 22175 Hwy. 62 at approximately 11:45 a.m. Nov. 13.
The lone suspect approached a teller with a note demanding money. No weapon was displayed. He left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. Witnesses last saw the suspect running north along Hwy. 62. The Shady Cove Schools were locked down for a short time while officers searched the area.
The suspect is described as a while male in his mid-20s, approximately 5 ft. 7 in. tall, with a slender to average build. He was wearing a red baseball cap, a dark blue jacket with a yellow strip and red logo on the front, a brown shirt, blue jeans and athletic shoes.
