Speaker and entertainment for Scholarship Dessert

One of the sure signs of the holiday season is the annual Scholarship Dessert. Now in its 21st  year, the much anticipated event will be on Thursday, Nov. 29. Formalities begin promptly at 7 p.m. and conclude no later than 9 p.m.  Those who have attended the event know it is a good idea to get to the high school cafeteria on time to visit and to see the many lovely table decorations provided by the table hostesses.

This year’s guest speaker will be Wendi (Bowles) Workinger. She is a
1989 graduate of Eagle Point High School and a 1995 graduate of Oregon
Institute of Technology where she obtained a bachelor of science degree
in medical imaging.
She is the supervisor of x-ray
technology at Sutter Coast Hospital in Crescent City. In December she
will be promoted to the administrator of picture archive
Music will be provided by the EPHS band under the direction of Tevya Robbins.
its 20 years of fund raising, every cent raised has gone to the
scholarship program. Nothing is spent on advertising or supplies.
Hostesses reserve a table or tables by calling Olive Lansburgh at

settings, linens and a centerpiece. Tables can be as fancy or as casual
as the hostess wishes to make them. While  some bring fine china,
others find Wall-Mart’s finest works very well.
Before the evening ends, hostesses provide guests with a donation envelope.
