Anna N. Zander passed away on Dec. 4, 2007 from cancer at the age of 73 in Bend Oregon.  She was born to Gus and Merle Carlson on Dec.20, 1933 in Central Point, Oregon.  She grew up in Eagle Point which she always considered to be her "true" home.  Polio interrupted her high school years and left her paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair.  She attended Robertson’s School of Business.  She worked for United Telephone Company for many years, Dr. Albert Eaton, and later as a secretary to the Medford A’s.
Anna enjoyed visiting and communicating via e-mail with her family and friends, shopping online, reading, quilting, crossword puzzles, writing, and most of all being with her grandchildren.
On August 20, 1961 she married Edward Zander in Eagle Point, they were married for 25 years, and remained good friends following a divorce, until his death in 2002. They had a daughter Jvon, and a son Bill.  Anna is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Tom and Dorothy Farley of Central Point, a brother and sister-in-law Bill and MaryAnn Carlson of Central Point, brother-in-law Dale Jefferson of Dallas Oregon,  a son Bill Zander, of Eugene, a daughter and son-in law Jvon and Dane Danforth of Bend, three grandchildren Taylor Danforth, Jordan Danforth, and Lanee Danforth of Bend, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a sister Genieva, brothers Gus and Dean, and former husband Ed.
Anna moved to Prineville, Oregon with Jvon and her family in 1999.  Her sense of humor and kindness were enjoyed by all and will be missed.  Her family takes comfort in knowing that Anna is now able to walk, run, skip, and jump after 57 years in her wheelchair.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Hospice Center, 2075 NE Wyatt Court, Bend, Oregon 97702.
