Wednesday, Dec. 5- Oregon Hwy. 38 (Umpqua Hwy.) Is closed from Reedsport to Elkton due to a landslide, which includes several large rocks blocking both lanes of the highway.
ODOT estimates the highway will remain closed until Saturday, Dec. 8.
Flaggers are providing traffic control in Reedsport and Elkton. Electronic signs have been placed in Reedsport, Coos Bay, Florence, Drain and along I-5. Motorists traveling to and from the coast are advised to use Oregon Highways 42 or 126 as alternate routes.
The landslide occurred at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Rocks and other debris fell along a 300-ft. Section of the highway near MP 27.
