Those who like country western music or who have followed Mike Boren’s musical career will want to share in his most recent news.
Boren and his band, Ambush, opened for a number of popular country bands such as Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Dan Seeals and Little Texas.
For years many have asked Boren if he had a CD available. While that has been a long time goal, Boren didn’t want to put out just any CD, he wanted one that took his talent to a new level.
And that has finally happened. "Michael Boren- There From Here" was done in Nashville with the Nashville Players.
"One of my goals has been to see some of my songs in finished form," said Boren. "Many of the songs on the album are currently being promoted to publishers and musicians in the Nashville and Texas markets."
Boren and his friend, Jason Johnston, have written some 100 songs over the years. A number of them are featured on this album.
The album, which features photography and cover design by Boren’s wife, Buffy, is for sale at Valley Feed in Eagle Point and by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org or sending a request to Michael Boren, P.O. Box 2182, White City, OR 97503. The CD is $15 plus shipping and handling.
Music has always been an important part of Boren’s life, but so has feeding and housing the family so he has been with Jackson County Roads for 21 years and is the supervisor for roads and bridges.
The Boren family, which includes Grayson and Brittney, also have an album out. "Home Grown Christmas 2006" is available for $10 at the same addresses noted above. It features the family singing a variety of Christmas music from Jingle Bells to Little Drummer Boy to Oh Holy Night, a total of 11 favorite songs.
Either CD would make a great gift or stocking stuffer.
