Tip leads SC Police to PremierWest robbery suspect

Shady Cove Police arrested a suspect in the Nov.13 PremierWest Bank robbery. Bruce Ryan Satterlee, 26, was taken into custody when police served a search warrant on his residence in the 21000 block of Hwy. 62 on Dec. 6.
The break in the case started with an anonymous tip. Further investigation led to positive witness identification and the collection of further evidence, according to Sgt. Julie Denney of the Shady Cove Police. Satterlee was taken into custody without incident. He was lodged on charges of robbery in the 2nd degree and theft in the 2nd degree.
He had no prior contact with Shady Cove Police and had lived in the community for only a month and rarely left his residence. These factors could have prevented someone from identifying him as the suspect sooner.
Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Satterlee earlier in the week in White City in an unrelated incident. He pleaded guilty at arraignment. Satterlee faces additional charges of criminal mistreatment in the 1st degree in relation to the February death of two-year-old Caleb Hearne in Phoenix.
