One of the favorite events in any Cub Scout’s career in the annual Pinewood derby. the scouts make their car from a kit which contains a rectangular block of wood and four axles and wheels. They are allowed to make it any shape or size as long as they stick ;with the axles and wheels that come in the kit, the finished car must weigh 5 oz. or less.

Kids and parents alike get into the race which is broken up into ages whith a fmaily category as well.

Medals for first, second, and third place are given along with a Grand Champion Trophy. This years winner of the trophy was Matthew Dechert.

Cars of every shape, size and color were raced. Even Oregon State University and the University of Oregon were present for a "Civil War" race.

The event was held at Eagle Rock Elementary School and was very well attended.
