“Over the Rise”, by David Bjurstrom, of Ashland, is one of many, many items to be auctioned at this Saturday’s Exotic Dessert Auction to be held at the Eagle Point High School Cafeteria beginning at 7 p.m.

Imagine bidding on a cake, a pie or cookies and getting an "incentive" gift such as a hot air balloon ride or art work by Carl Seyboldt or  David Bjurstrom or one of several dozen other gifts. It not only can happen, rewards such as these have happened every year for the past 14 years at the Exotic Dessert Auction.

This unique event is sponsored by the Eagle Point Community Association  and a community group selected by the association. This year, the co-sponsor is the Eagle Point Booster organization. They, in turn, gave several high school groups the opportunity to share as  beneficiaries of the project in return for their help in providing desserts and incentive items.

The event begins at 7 p.m. this Saturday, Mar. 8, in the high school cafeteria. A few of other incentives items include a BBQ with tools, quilts, flower arrangements, sterling silver jewelry, overnight lodging, gift certificates from numerous restaurants, cookies for a year, a beautiful handmade purse from alpaca wool, to name a few.

While there is no admission charge, $50 table reservations are more than welcome and a particularly good way to support the event if you can’t attend, noted Bunny Lincoln, who is chair of it and chair of the Eagle Point Community Association. To donate or for information call Bunny at 944-2446.
