David Leon Provost, 55, of Shady Cove, died at his
California residence on April 5, 2008, after an eight year battle with cancer.
He was born in Ashland, Ore., on June 20, 1952, to
Kathryn and Clarence Provost. They moved to California when he was age five. He
married his high school sweetheart in 1970. They reared six children. He
returned to Oregon in 1996 to retire in Shady Cove.
Mr. Provost was an active member of the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as Bishop of the Eagle Point ward. He
enjoyed rafting the Rogue River, traveling the world and spending time with
family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne, and five children;
David, Josh, Michelle, Julie and Tom and eight grandchildren. He was preceded
in death by his infant son, Daniel.
Memorial services in his honor were held April 12 in
Santa Clarita, Calif. He was buried near his son at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills
Cemetery in Los Angeles.
