A memorial service for Erna V. Hannaford of Eagle Point will be held at 5:30 p.m., Friday, April 11, 2008 at St. John Lutheran Church 42 Alta Vista Rd. Eagle Point, Or. with Pastor Gary Clark Officiating.
    
Erna was born on the family farm, December 17, 1919 in Cottonwood, Minnesota, to Martin Ree and Adelia (Nelson) Ree She graduated from Russell MN High School in 1938 and attended 1 year at Montevideo Teacher’s College. She taught 4 years in a 1 room country school in Southwestern Minn. She move to calif. in 1943 and met Dave Hannaford at a U.S.O. dance. They married Dec, 1, 1945 when Dave returned from duty in the South pacific. She lived in Eagle point from 1945 until she moved to Coquille in 2007 . She loved teaching Sunday School and caring for children, her own and many others.. She loved her many years as the teachers helper in the 3 year old class at St. John Lutheran School. She was a livelong Lutheran and was an active member of St.John Lutheran and also loved attending the Red Rock Cowboy Church. She enjoyed camping, gardening, reading pioneer stories but most of all being with her family.
   
She is survived by her daughter Janet Tilton and husband David of Coos Bay, Sons Jim Hannaford and wife, Linda and Jerry Hannaford and wife, Deborah; both of Eagle Point. Foster daughters Jeannette Warren and Scott Broderick of Reno, NV. and Linda Lowes of Thayer, Kansas and Barbara and Bruce Hibbs-Robertson of Central Point. 12 grandchildren and 3 Great grandchildren. memorial contributions may be sent to St. John Lutheran Church P.O.
