John Lucas takes Pear

John Lucas, well known locally as a runner and an EPHS graduate in the Class of 1999, took the 32nd annual Pear Blossom Run with ease.
Lucas ran the 10-miler in 50 minutes 6 seconds. This was his first Pear Blossom
The favorite, Max King, placed third at 52:01. King and Lucas were rivals during their high school years as King was a Crater graduate.
Lucas participated in the Olympic Trails where he placed 44th in the marathon. During his college years he was a track participant at the University of Oregon.Prior to those events, he was a star member of the EPHS track team who could be seen almost any day running through Eagle Point preparing for another track event or perhaps preparing for the annual 4th of July Run.
