Sen. Whitsett appoint vice-chair of judiciary

State Senator Doug Whitsett (R) District 28 has been appointed by Oregon Senate President Peter Courtney (D) Salem to be vice-Chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee. He has also been appointed to serve on the interim Ways and Means Committee, and to the Emergency Board.
The Ways and Means Committee is responsible for creating the State’s budget and for authorizing all state spending.  All changes in state spending while the Legislature is not in session must be authorized by the Emergency Board.
He also serves on the Office of Administrative Hearings Oversight Committee, the Committee on Judicial Facilities and Technologies, as well as the Water and Public Lands Committee and the River Governance Committee for the Counsel of State Governments-West.
