On May 5, students, families and community friends enjoyed an evening of food, fun and student celebration. Children drew raffle tickets to receive free books and people enjoyed the warm spring air and a time of visiting with each other. The staff served over 400 people taco salad dinners. At this annual school celebration the Mountain View families take time to come together as a community to support their children.

This year all classes displayed special art work and many had excellent examples of student writing to celebrate their learning this year. One class created drawings of all staff members-with much resemblance to us-to our delight and dismay! There was a wonderful variety of color and creativity-we have great artists!

The school’s fifth grade dance troupe performed two traditional Mexican dances at the end of the evening. Their beautiful costumes, exuberance and flair were enjoyed by all. They have performed at several other events this year, and it is always fun to see this expression of the cultural heritage of so many of our students.
