Betty Oakley, 81, of Butte Falls, died July 26, 2008 at Rogue Valley Medical Center.
Mrs. Oakley was born Mar. 27, 1927, in Klamath Falls, Ore., to J. Riley and Addie Loomis. She was two years old when she was adopted by her grandmother, Clara Bowen, at the death of her mother, Addie.
On Nov. 5, 1944, she married Louis P. Oakley, who preceded her in death.
They lived several years in Hilt, Calif. And in Ashland, where she enjoyed teaching ballroom dancing and later working at a bakery. She owned and operated a dance studio in Ashland in the late 1950s. She moved to Butte Falls in 2002.
She enjoyed having friends and family around her. She is survived by three daughters, Terry Miller, Butte Falls, Paddy Brown, Sanger, Calif., Tammy Oakley, Medford, a son, Robby Oakley, Florence, Ore. 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to RVMC Hospice. The memorial service for Mrs. Oakley will be Wednesday, July 30, at 3 p.m. at the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
