Eleanor F. Anderson was born in Milwaukee, Wisc., on Oct. 20, 1909. She was the oldest of four children, only one of which survives her: Dorothy Hayes of Oconomowoc, Wisc., who will be 97 on Aug. 10, 2008.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Gadwood; and her sister, Catherine Brown.
She died in Central Point, Ore., on June 30, 2008, at the age of 98. She was the wife of Martin L. Anderson. They raised their two daughters, Marijean Anderson Arias, and Christine Helen Anderson McAdam, in El Monte, Calif., where they moved in 1947, after the worst snow storm to hit Wisconsin in years. She worked as a manager and a cook for an elementary school for 26 years. All the teachers and students ate lunch with Eleanor, she knew how to put the love in the food. She moved to Eagle Point, Ore., to be near her oldest daughter in 2005, after living in Redondo Beach, Calif., for 14 years.
She is survived by two sons-in-law, Albert M. Arias and Steven D. McAdam.
All who knew Eleanor will miss her. She was a wonderful, warm, honest, loving, kind, hard working, beautiful woman who we were proud to call "Mother."
There won’t be one like her for a long time!
