Volunteers wanted for annual river clean up

The annual Rogue River clean up is scheduled for Aug. 9 starting at the Shady Cove Park. At 8 a.m. members of the Rogue Guides & Sportsmen Association  will be paired with community groups, such as the Shady Cove Boosters, the Upper Rogue Watershed, PremierWest Bank, Rogue Scuba and other volunteers from the community to clean up trash and other debris from the river bottom and the river bank.

The amount of trash this volunteer effort collects goes a long way to protect those using the river.

Guides
and volunteers will put in at several locations starting at Lost Creek
Reservoir and points down river and when finished will join up again at
Shady Cove Park for a lunch catered from Outback Steakhouse. The guides
and volunteers will be served a fabulous BBQ much like last year.

This
year the event coincides with the Art Walk along the river making a
wonderful way to help the river and afterwards enjoy the many artists
displaying a variety of arts and crafts.

Guides will provide
cool beverages, you need to remember the sunscreen, sunglasses and a
hat. Help make the river a cleaner, safer place to fish and raft or
just to look at.
