Ausland gets contract for new VA Domiciliary building

Ausland Builders, of Grants Pass,  has been selected to build a new rehabilitation facility at the Veterans Administration Southern Oregon Rehabilitation and Clinic campus in White City.  The project cost is approximately $3.6 Million and will be complete by summer of 2009.

The new facility will emulate the historic architecture of the campus
while integrating modern construction and medical standards.  Ausland
has set a goal of recycling at least 85% of the material generated from
the demolition of a building that will be removed to make room for the
new facility.

Ausland was selected through a Federal process
known as "best-value procurement" in which a combination of technical
merit and cost is considered upon making award.

"I’m
particularly proud to be selected for this project as Bill Ausland, the
founder of our firm, actually built much of the original, previously
named, Camp White campus while working for the Army Corp of Engineers
prior to starting Ausland in 1947" said Aaron Ausland, president of
Ausland Builders.  "I can’t think of a better way to honor our heritage
while celebrating our 60th year in serving the construction needs of
our region."

Ausland recently completed the building of the
Shady cove Library and was to have been the builder for the Inn at
Eagle Point until the developer turned the property over to Bank of the
Cascades.
