The 58th annual Timber Carnival in Prospect gets underway Saturday, Aug. 16 at noon. Sign up times are from 10-11:30. There is a $3 admission charge for adults and $1 for children.
Events will include both a women’s and a men’s ax throw, single buck,
stock saw, men’s and women’s chocker setting, Jack & Jill, farmer
saw, unlimited stock saw, speed axe throw, double buck, speed pole
climb and log rolling.
Many area merchants have donated prizes for the winners of the timber carnival.
Tickets are $1 or six for $5 for the raffle prizes. They can be purchased at the Jamboree Booth on Aug. 16.

Service, a queen sized log bed, BBQ gas grill, 3/4 minus rock, and
numerous other great gifts.
Events get underway with
breakfast at 7 a.m. at Lions Park. The parade is at 10 a.m. followed by
tug of war, bingo, music, and at 11:30 there will be a hay scramble and
horseshoes. Afternoon events include the greased pig contest
at 12:30, watermelon eating, hula hoop, gunny sack races and more. The
day is scheduled to end at 7 p.m.
