Reservation deadline near for D9 fund raiser

One of the most delightful events in the area is about to happen and if you don’t have your reservation in, Olive Lansburgh needs to hear from you. The eighth annual D9 Foundation Dinner-Auction-Golf Tournament is coming up on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 6-7. All activities will be held at the Eagle Point Golf Club.

The D-9 Foundation represents 15 memorial scholarships, in addition to
its own. The Foundation has a partnership with Community Health Center
to offer dental examinations and sealants to elementary age children.
Critical emergency dental needs for uninsured or underinsured
elementary-age children is in cooperation with Community Health Center,
the school nurse and Eagle Point Dental. As part of the partnership
with Community Health Center’s "Every child needs a medical home"
program, vaccinations are also provided to elementary-age children.
   
The goal for this year’s weekend of events is $62,500.
   
The
silent auction and social time begins at 5:30 p.m. Dinner is served at
7 p.m. after which comes the oral auction. What is normally the dining
area at Arthur’s will have tables of silent auction items. Bidding
closes as dinner begins. There are always many wonderful items found
during the silent auction. Items may include gift certificates, baskets
full of items, some art work, among the dozens of unusual items.
   
This
year’s dinner menu offers choices of mustard and herb encrusted roast
beef with a blue cheese demi-glace or chicken Jerusalem, featuring a
breast of chicken cooked with Jerusalem artichokes in a white wine
sauce. Side dishes include a carrot and broccoli medley, roasted red
potatoes, fresh green salad with ranch or raspberry viniagrette
dressing and  assorted rolls. Dessert is delicious New York cheese cake
with raspberry sauce. Dinner is $40 for an individual or $75 for a
couple. When placing your dinner reservation, please include the names
of those with whom you expect to be seated. Call Olive Lansburgh at
826-4534 or if you have an invitation, it should be returned right away
with your dinner choice indicated. 
   
There were a few
remaining openings for the golf tournament as of late last week. The
price remains the same as last year with a team of four $400. Entry
fees include a cart, range balls, box lunch, drink ticket and door
prizes. The entry deadline is Aug. 29. For information or for a

826-2045. Tee time is 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7.
