Wilbur T. "Bill" Hutchinson

Wilbur Thomas  "Bill"  Hutchinson, 88, of Eagle Point, died July 28, 2008 at Providence Medford Medical Center. He was born in Lake Zurich, Ill. on Dec. 19, 1919 to Edward & Irene (Haines) Hutchinson. At his request there will be no service.
 

Mr. Hutchinson’s passion was long distance running, camping and square
dancing. He was a member of the Southern Oregon Sizzlers and the Star
Promenaders Dance Club. He spent 30 years in the U.S. Coast guard and
retired as a Chief Warrant Officer-4. He served in Guam, Hawaii, the
Great Lakes, Sault Ste Marie, Alaska and the West Coast. Upon
retirement from the Coast Guard, he moved to Eagle Point in 1970.
   
On
Oct. 6, 1940 he married Barbara Maxine Hayse, in Goldfield, NV. They
had two daughters. His first wife died in 1982 and on Apr. 16, 1983 in
Reno, NV he married Barbara Jean Clymer.
   
In addition to his
wife, Barbara J., he is survived by daughters, Barbara A. Cox of
Tacoma, WA., Diane Gidaro of New Castle, PA.; step-son Charles Humphrey
of Medford, step-daughters Reva Adams, Judy Bradshaw, both of Eagle
Point and Louise Nelson of Eugene; a sister, Betty Shaffer of Santee,
CA,; a brother, Robert Hutchinson of Tucson, AZ., eight grandchildren,
seven step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, seven
step-great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
   
He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene (Haines) Schultz, two brothers, George
 Hutchinson and Jack Schultz, and a sister, Mildred Powers.
   
He
will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. His remains will
be placed in the Eagle Point National Cemetery. Memorial donations may
be made in his name to Wildlife Images, P.O. Box 36, Merlin, OR 97532.
