Friday night at Eagle Stadium belonged to EPHS senior Garrett Davis. He scored four touchdowns and caught nine passes for 180 yards.
Quarterback Austin Marlia, a junior, was 14 of 17 passes for 235 yards and he had two touchdowns.
The first quarter ended with Madison ahead 8-6, with the Eagles scoring on an 18-yard Marlia run. The kick failed.
At the half Eagle Point was in the driver’s seat having put 22 points on the board and pushing the lead to 28-22. Those scores came on a 64-yard pass from Marlia to Davis and a 5-yard run by Davis with a kick by Jacob Goff.
The second half was a Marlia-Davis show with Marlia going in on an 8-yard run scoring. Once again Davis scored twice, each time on 23-yard runs from Marlia.
With seconds remaining, Steven Josephson, on a failed on-side kick took the ball 44 yards. With a Goff extra point, the Eagles gave the hometown crowd a 48-30 victory.
