Girls soccer sarts with tie and win





Eagle Point girls soccer traveled to Marshfield on Sept. 2
for their season opener. The non-conference game went to a double overtime and
ended in a 1-1 tie.

Marshfield scored in the first 16 min. Kaylee Tuttle
answered in the 76 min. off an assist from Ellen Radcliffe.

Two days later they faced Rogue River. Eagle Point started
the scoring off in the 23 min. with a goal from Erica Rasor. Another goal was
added in the 35 min by Sarah Lilley. In the second half Rogue River’s Dannie
Hansen scored on a penalty kick and then added another goal on a break away.
EP’s Erica Rasor scored again in the 70 min to put us back in the lead. Rogue
River scored to even it up with a goal from Alyssa Evans. Then with 10 min
remaining in the game EP’s Kaylee Tuttle scored the winning goal off a cross.

On Sept. 11 they played Cascade Christian and lost 3 to 2.

"We had a great start by getting a goal from Marissa
O’Connor when she headed a corner kick in from Erica Rasor in the 1st minute of
the game," said Coach Stephanie Pogue. Cascade Christian came back in the 22nd
minute with a goal from Kaitlyn Emard to tie it up. Cascade scored again by
Becky Eustace. Kaitlyn Emard scored the winning goal in the 27th minute. The
Eagles closed the gap with a goal from Sarah Lilley in the second half.

They will be against Hidden Valley on Sept. 18.
