Eagle Point had two opportunities to pull ahead of Hidden Valley late in the 4th quarter, but fumbled both times. Hidden Valley , with a perfect record in the Skyline Conference, was the victor 29-22.
Hidden Valley opened with a two-yard run early in the first quarter. But the Eagles came back when Steven Josephson scored on a four-yard run and Jacob Goff made the extra point. Garrett Davis took the ball and ran 79-yards for the Eagles second TD. Again, Goff’s kick added another point.
Hidden Valley on a one yard run scored in the third and Kearney took it
75-yards for the second TD in the third for the Mustangs.
Marlia answered with a 12-yard pass from Davis giving the Eagles the
lead, but that was not enough as Hidden Valley’s Todd Woodrum ran four
yards for his second TD of the night.
The Eagles had more
fumbles (2-2 vs. 1-0) for HV, and more penalties 5-40 yds. vs 2-12
yds.) for the Mustangs. Eagle Point had 20 first downs while HV had 17;
rushing saw the Eagles 31-292 with HV 43-172.
travel to Ashland Friday night for their last game of the season. With
Ashland’s loss Friday to Klamath Union, if the Eagles could pull off a
victory they could find themselves in the playoffs. Game time is 7 p.m.
