Eagle Point High School students can once again “bank on it.” The opportunity to open a bank account is now available to students through a partnership with Rogue Federal Credit Union. A number of years ago Western Bank had a similar program at the high school. Pat Jacobson was the Western Bank manager and today Jacobson is the manager of the Eagle Point branch of RFCU.
The branch is open daily from 7:45-8:20, at lunch from 11:10 to 11:45 and after school from 3-3:35 p.m. with two teller windows.
Through November students can enter to win an iPod Shuffle, a gasoline certificate, coffee bucks or gift certificates for food.
EPHS senior Teresa Esqueda is the EPHS branch manager. She is assisted by the students pictured. To be a part of the student program, students need to pick up an application at the credit union in Eagle Point and go through an interview process. The high school tellers also work in the Eagle Point branch.
RFCU also offers educational programs for middle and high school students to increase their financial literacy. For more information, call Jacobson at 618-7474.
