Jean Francis Barnhart, 80, of Eagle Point, died Nov. 21, 2008, at Providence Medford Medical Center.
Mrs. Barnhart was born in Medford on Feb. 22, 1928, to Richard and Mae Denman. She was the youngest of their seven children, which included six boys.
In January 1951, she married Earl Hollen Barnhart. They had 57 happy years together during which they raised three children. She was a school teacher at Mae Richardson Elementary in Central Point for 20 years. Retirement found her enjoying golf, nickel machines and the love of reading.
She is survived by her husband, Earl, her three children, Richard Duane Barnhart, of Oroville, Calif., Earl Christopher Barnhart of St. Louis, Mo., and Karen Jean Brown of Portland, Ore.; two brothers, George, of Missoula, Mont., and Ralph, of Central Point, as well as eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Richard, Keith, Joseph and Father Don Denman.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Food Bank and the Gospel Mission in Medford. The memorial service for Mrs. Barnhart was held Dec. 1 at Perl Funeral Home. Arrangements by Perl Funeral Home.
