June Louella Banks, 76, of Eagle Point, died Dec. 6, 2008 in Medford.
She was born June 30, 1932 in Oakland, Calif. To John and Helen Tietjen.
She met her husband, Everett Banks, on Dec. 19, 1953 and 11 days later
they were married in Tijuana, Mexico. They fell in love with Oregon and
moved here, along with their best friends, in 1977 to give their
children a better life.
Ms. Banks was self-employed and well
known for her paintings of Oregon landscapes and farm scenes. She
enjoyed cooking and collecting agates. In her later years she spent
much of her time at the beach.
She was preceded in death by
her husband, Everett. She is survived by her six children; Dan
Gillespie, Donna Bryan, Lisa Newby, Cindy Lou Banks, Craig Banks and
Jennifer Brown, 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
service for Ms. Banks was Dec. 10 at the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
