Our Lady of Guadalupe celebration

Dec. 12 marks the 11th consecutive year, the Southern Oregon Catholic Vicariate will conduct the Our Lady of Guadalupe Festivities at the Jackson County Expo Compton Arena.
The event is made possible by the Catholic Vicariate of Southern Oregon through its Hispanic Ministries with the support and sponsors of many local businesses.
This feast gathers as many as 2,500, with the majority of Hispanic background.
Festivities begin Dec. 12 at 4 p.m. with traditional Mañanitas, Matachines and other native dances. Culminating with Eucharistic celebration, presided over by Fr. Sean Weeks, pastor of Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church and co-celebrated by other priests from Southern Oregon Catholic churches.
    The program is as follows:
    4 p.m.- Dancers in honor of Our Lady Guadalupe from Tapalpa, Jalisco.
    5 p.m.- Mañanitas and presentations of the Matachines and Ritmo Alegre Folk Group.
    6 p.m.- Reflection on "Mary, Mother of Our Savior, a path to conversion." Keynote this year, Felix Garcia.
    7 p.m. Eucharistic Mass
    8:30 p.m. Play-reenactment of the apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe
