Eagle Point youth wrestlers bring home 10 first place awards

Eagle Point youth wrestlers attended Classic Qualifiers across the state the weekend of Dec. 27.  Wrestlers compete for the top 3 spots in order to qualify to wrestle at one of the largest tournaments on the West Coast next month. Eagle Point had 19 kids qualify to wrestle at the Oregon Classic Jan. 10 & 11 in Redmond, OR.     
One EP wrestler in particular did extraordinarily well at the Southern Oregon Qualifier held in Klamath Falls, OR. Noah Sims of Eagle Point received the Outstanding Wrestler award for the midget division.    
EPYW wrestler’s qualified are:
Noah Sims 1st Place Outstanding Wrestler (midget); other 1st place honors went to:Wade May, Taylor Mitchell, Johnny Wilkerson, Payton Heppner, Austin Harris, Jesse Cayo, Joshua Griffeth, Josiah Nigrelli and Dominick Deitrick.
In 2nd place were: James McCoy, Danny Martin, Brian Josephson, Ryan Lorenz and
Levi Pomero. Josiah Pomeroy captured 3rd Place. Others were: Anthony Alvarado, Justin Josephson, Hunter Morgan and Shun Talmadge.
