R.V. Kuhns & Associates, Inc. (RVK) recently announced the appointment of Rebecca "Becky" (Sweem) Gratsinger as CEO of the firm. The transition was privately announced to the firm’s employees and clients before year end. Gratsinger is a 1983 graduate of Eagle Point High School.
Gratsinger was valedictorian of her class. She received her Bachelor of
Science in finance from Portland State University and holds the Charter
Financial Analyst designation. She is a member of the CFA Institute and
a member of the Portland Society of Financial Analysts. She is a
shareholder of the firm. Gratsinger joined RV Kuhn in 1994 and has 20
years of investment consulting experience. She is married to Scott
Gratsinger, also a graduate of EPHS.
From the founding of
RVK by Russ Kuhns more than 23 years ago, the firm has grown from a
handful of employees to a current staff of 90 in four offices
nationwide-Portland, Seattle, New York, and Chicago. Guided by Mr.
Kuhns’ vision and energy, RVK now serves more than 350 clients in 27
RVK has steadfastly remained an independent firm,
owned and run by a steadily broadening base of dedicated professionals
over this time. Over the firm’s history RVK has incrementally moved
from essentially a sole proprietor model in 1986 to a firm, as the end
of 2008 approached, with ownership spread among 15 partners, a three
person Board of Directors, and a full complement of Consultants,
Associate Consultants, Research Consultants, and many other
professionals standing behind them.
The firm also announced
the following milestones: RVK’s Board of Directors was expanded from
three to eight, with Marcia Beard, Josh Kevan, Rob Palmeri, Eric
Tanaka, and Charlie Waibel joining the current members, Russ Kuhns,
Becky Gratsinger, and Jim Voytko.
Mr. Kuhns assumed the position of Chairman of R.V. Kuhns & Associates, Inc. and
announced that he will remain active in the company on a daily basis and with multiple
clients for some years to come.
The board also announced the addition of five new partners to the firm- Pete Madsen,
Tony Johnson, Dan Krivinskas, Ashlee Moehring, and Mike Paolucci. This brings the
total number of principals from 15 to 20 – all active in RVK’s consulting practice.
Gratsinger noted in a letter sent to clients after the announcement,
the firm reiterated its commitment to remaining independent,
maintaining the consulting teams currently in place, and preserving its
reputation for adhering to the most stringent ethical standards.
