Mary Lou Swisher

Mary Lou Swisher died in Eagle Point, Ore., on Dec. 23, 2008, which was her 92nd birthday.
She was one of 10 children born to Mary (Wyatt) and Everett Igo. She was born Dec. 23, 1916 in Prague, Okla.
The family moved to Medford in 1933. She married Ralph Swisher in Medford in 1945. The couple moved to Merrill, Ore. In 1947. In 1998, Ms. Swisher moved back to Medford to be near her family.               
She was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed family reunions, traveling, reading and working in her yard. She kept a daily journal for over 35 years.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Doris and Cecil Owings, of Eagle Point, Dwane and Mary Raines of Woodburn, Ore., Shirley and Garth Mickelsen of Blackfoot, Idaho and Frank and Pam Swisher, of Eagle Point, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; a sister, Ruth Unruh, of Fresno, Calif; and two brothers, Dick Igo of Sutherlin, Ore. and Jerry Igo, of Mosier, Ore.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lester Raines (1940), her second husband, Ralph Swisher (1985) four sisters and two brothers.
O’Hair and Riggs Funeral Chapel of Klamath Falls was in charge of arrangements. A memorial service will celebrate her life at a later date and time to be announced.
