Robert Alan Miller

Robert Alan Miller, D.O., 62, of Eagle Point, died Dec. 27, 2008 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his beloved wife, Tonia, his loving mother, Dolly Miller, and a long-time friend, Alan Bates.
 

Dr. Miller had an interesting and varied career. He began his education
in engineering at the University of Michigan, before graduating from
Philadelphia College of Medicine in 1972, with a specialty in internal
medicine. He worked as a primary care physician for more than 30 years,
including seven years at the VA Hospital in White City, where he
practiced until his death.
   
He loved to tell stories of
fishing and boating the waters of Chesapeake Bay with his grandfather.
He was a great athlete and an outdoorsman. He loved to ride his
Harley-Davidson and his passion for whitewater rafting call him down
the river many times.
   
He met and married his soul mate and
best friend, Tonia Miller. He will live on in the hearts and memories
of friends and family.
   
In addition to his wife, he is
survived by daughters, Britney and Lauren; a brother, Ronald H. Miller
(Amy) of Phoenix, Ariz; and the children taken into his heart upon his
marriage to Tonia; daughters, Jennifer and Katelynn and son. Addison.
   
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Miller.
   
A
memorial service was held Jan.  2, 2009 at the Central Point
Conger-Morris Chapel with a celebration of his life in Eagle Point.
Graveside services were private.
