Fifteen Butte Falls FBLA students qualify for state

Twenty-two  students from Butte Falls High School attended the Cascade Region Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) conference at OIT in Klamath Falls on Feb. 5.  Seven other members did not attend, but still competed through on-line testing.
Fifteen students came away with placings in the top 7, which qualifies them to go to the state conference in Portland in April.

1st – Parliamentary Procedures Team: David Dunham, Travis Eller, Allison Hailicka, Aarika Stephens & Quinton Weaver; 2nd- Global Business Team: Scott Goodman and Alex Nicholson; 2nd – Management Decision Making Team: Derrick Cisneros and Daniel Boyd; 2nd – Job Interview: Heather O’Keefe; 3rd – Business Procedures: Daniel Boyd;

4th- Technology Concepts: Quinton Weaver; 4th- Computer Applications: Joli Hobbs; 6th- Business Calculations: Allison Hailicka; 6th – Business Procedures: Derrick Cisneros; 6th – Computer Applications: Scott Goodman; 7th- Introduction to Business Communication: Quinby Barrows; 7th- Desktop Publishing: Darby Burg and Ashlee Poppe; 8th – Introduction to Business; Kyle Kinyon; 9th – Introduction to Business; Anthony Nicholson; 9th – Personal Finance:Tony Carothers; 9th – Public Speaking I: Brittney Gorman; 10- Business Law: Beth Sutfin; and 10th- Business Procedures: David Dunham.

It costs over $200 to send each student to state, so members will be continuing with their fundrai
sing efforts over the next couple of months.  They are currently selling green/black top socks and running the student store.  Other fundraisers may include car washes and a Jell-O wrestling contest.  Keep your eyes and ears open. 

Last year Butte Falls sent member Quinton Weaver to the National Conference in Atlanta, GA. Quinton and others hope to make it that far again.
