Jessie May Norling

Jessie May (Chambers) Norling, 89, of Sprague River and formerly of Butte Falls, died Feb. 11, 2009 at her home.
She was born Oct. 16, 2019, in California, to Egbert and Omia Chambers. As a young child in the 1920s, the family, including five siblings, traveled to Oregon in a covered wagon to homestead in the foothills of Butte Falls.
She married William (Bill) C. Norling in 1938. They lived in Butte Falls where they raised two sons and a daughter. She owned and ran the Butte Falls Café and did housekeeping to help contribute to her family’s needs.
She enjoyed gardening and was involved in her church. She also loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her sons, Richard Norling (Renee) of Sprague River, and Dale Norling, of Butte Falls, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and her daughter, Darlene Branham and five siblings.
A graveside service was held at the Butte Falls Cemetery on Feb. 19. Arrangements by Conger Morris.
