Eagle Point hosted the Klamath Union Pelicans on Friday, in a Southern Sky Conference match-up. The Eagles came up short in their quest for their first conference victory of the season, by a score of 70-58. The Eagles led early, but trailed by one at the end of the first period.
The Eagles found themselves down by 8 at the half, but quickly cut it 2 points after the halftime break. The Pelicans found their range in the middle of the 3rd period knocking down 4 three pointers to extend their lead to 12 at the end of 3 quarters. The eagles battled throughout the final quarter, but were undone by turnovers and the inability to convert free throws consistently.
Logan Winter led the Eagles with 16 points. Zach Reed checked in with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Austin Marlia added 11 point and 4 assists. Austin Rowley and Tyrone Holmes contributed 6 points each. Tyler VanDyke totaled 5 points and contributed 2 assists with no turnovers.
