Sam Newman Lewis, Jr., age 84 of White City, died Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at his home. Sam was born on May 15, 1924 at Pasadena, California to Sam and Olive Lewis. He served as a Corporal for our country during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1946 from the Army.
He worked as an outfitter guide with pack horses and he took people
into special destinations for hunting and fishing. Later, he managed a
large ranch in the Eagle Point area, working there until he retired.
Sam was a fine carpenter and also enjoyed gardening.
survived by his wife, Arline: sons, William Lewis, David Lewis and his
wife, Linda, Danny Hutson, Dweslie Hutson and his wife, Brenda;
daughters, Dianne Buschow and her husband, Michael, Bette Prater and
her husband, Fred; Deborah K. Smith and her husband, Steven;
grandchildren, Ashley Lewis, Kenneth Lewis, Tyler Lewis, Spencer Lewis,
Madison Lewis, Jennifer Hegstram, Michaela Buschow, Marissa Buschow,
Matthew Buschow, Corinda Prater, Stacie Prater, Shawn Prater, Tiffanie
Medina and her husband, Charles, Robert Hutson, Tyler Brotherton and
his wife, Stephanie, Katelyn Brotherton, Kristine Solomon and her
husband, Kevin, Sarah Sesock and her husband, Patrick II, Andrew
Brickley; and 10 great-grandchildren; Tabitha Scott, Larissa Burns,
Matthew Burns, Kaiden Beebee, Faith Hutson, Jayda Hutson, Seiana
Brotherton, Patrick Sesock III, Katelyn Sesock and Alicia Sesock, as
well as his brother, Richard Lewis, two sisters, Helen Coolidge and her
husband, Merl and Barbara McClish and her husband, Don.
was held at 1 p.m. Monday, Mar. 2, 2009 at the Eagle Point National
Cemetery, Services and reception followed at the Creekside Church in
Eagle Point. Arrangements by Abbey Funeral.
