It’s “Springtime in the Village”; the sun is out, and this time of the year, local businesses and volunteers gear up to “Go Daffy” in Shady Cove. The 9th annual Daffodil Daze Festival kicks off a six week celebration of spring Saturday, Mar. 21, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Visitors are invited to take a self-guided drive up Daffodil Hill, visit a local winery, dine at participating restaurants, walk and shop local businesses for sidewalk and in-store sales, have your picture taken with “Shady Chick” (business mascot), or sing and dance with the Village people.
Saturday’s festivities include artisans, original crafters, “funky craftitude,” festival music and food, a casual “Daffy Hat Promenade” along storefronts and an organized 11 a.m. Children’s Spring Parade. The parade leaves the Tree of Life Pre-School (north along Hwy 62) to the new Shady Cove Library for a special story time, followed at 1 p.m. with a puppet show in the heart of the Village business district.
On Sunday, Mar. 22, a 1K Community FUN Walk up Daffodil Hill is open to the public, entry fee is $5, or contribution of a non-perishable food item to benefit the Food Pantry at Upper Rogue Community Center.
