Carol Jean Lenhart, of Eagle Point, OR passed away Friday, March 27, 2009, at Rogue Valley Medical Center at 9 p.m. following a four-year battle with advanced ovarian cancer.
She was born Oct. 30, 1947, in Chicago, IL., to Constant John Bonette and Mary Rose Gonette. She moved to California in 1972 where she met Richart Lowell Lenhart, whom she later married in Albany, Ore., on March 16, 1979.
She received her master’s degree in teaching from Lesley University and
worked as an elementary teacher for 27 years, the last 18 of which were
spent at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Medford, OR, where she shaped
the lives of more than 800 children.
In addition to her
passion for teaching, community involvement was of great importance to
her and she was involved in a local 4-H horse club as a leader for 16
years and spent several years with Providence Festival of Trees.
Carol’s husband, Richart Lenhart, of Eagle Point and son, James Lenhart, of Medford; and five siblings survive her.
Rosary in her honor was said Thursday, April 2 at 6 p.m. at Sacred
Heart Church and a memorial service was held Friday, April 3 at 8:30
a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with reception that followed at Valley
View Winery from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m.
Those wishing to make
