The 6th Annual Eagle Point High School Thomas Ussary Memorial Car & Motorcycle Show will be held at the high school on May 2. The proceeds from the event go to the Thomas Ussary Memorial Scholarship fund and to the Eagle Point High School Skills USA Chapter.
The event is named after Thomas Ussary, an Eagle Point High School graduate and a member of Skills USA, who was killed in a car accident shortly before he was to leave for college. In his memory, the show funds two $500 scholarships. This is a student run event.
Over 200 cars of all makes and models, motorcycles and trucks will be at this major event. There is a poker run, engine blow-up, raffles, vendors and a swap meet. There are 46 different trophy classes which include six for motorcycles. Every type of vehicle is welcome, from mopeds to semi-trucks. The Ussary family picks the Best Car Club for a special award. Registration begins at 8:00 am, the engine blow-up is at noon and the poker run will start early in the afternoon. Registration fee in only $15 and includes a FREE t-shirt.
This is a major fundraiser for the Skills USA and a number of vendors and car clubs donate to the club. In addition to the scholarships, this show helps finance various event costs and travel expense for six students who have earned the right to attend the national Skills USA competition in Kansas City.
