Ken Albert Gould, 77, of Shady Cove, died April 8, 2009.
He was born July 30, 1931 in Myrtle Point, Ore. He attended school in Coquille, Ore., and served with the US. Army from 1950-1952. He was a life member of the DAV, VFW and a 30-year member of B.P.O.E., Brookings, Ore.
He and Lois Fredrickson were married July 4, 1977. They lived in Harbor, Ore., prior to moving to Shady Cove in 2004.
Mr. Gould was a very private man. He spent his working years doing what he loved, working in the logging industry. He took great pride in improving his home and property. An avid hunter and fisherman, he loved the outdoors. He was a descendant of an early pioneer family, The Goulds of Elkhorn, Coos county, Ore.
He is survived by his wife, Lois; sister, Jane H.Woolley, Veneta, Ore.; sons, Rodney, Roseburg, Mike, Myrtle Point and Wade, Montrose, S.D.; a daughter, Nancy Davenport, Phoenix, Ariz.; a step-daughter, Cheryl Bullock, Yazoo, Miss., and a step-son, Bryan Brooks, Ore.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold "Pete" Gould and mother, Mildred "Peg" Chapin and a son, Bret Gould.
At his request, no service was held. Final interment was in Eagle Point National Cemetery. Arrangements by Perl Funeral Home.
