Play in Prospect May 18

"Dreams and Things" written and produced by Prospect senior Sam Cone will be produced at Prospect High School on Monday, May 18 at 7 p.m. (Note-last week’s article listed May 19 in error)
Cone says he originally became inspired his freshman year as his English teacher gave him "Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf" and "Death of a Salesman" to read. The concept that a family has the American dream and should be happy, but was not, caught his attention. His teacher encouraged him to write.
This production marks the first time Prospect has had a full length theater production in more than 10 years.
In the play, Nathan Frost and family discover that having money is not all it is cracked up to be. When Nathan’s daughter, Susan, is accidentally killed, the family finds that no matter how much money they receive, they can’t buy back happiness, nor Susan’s life. As each family member draws closer to the void, can they save themselves, or are they doomed to fall apart?
The play is Monday, May 18 at 7 p.m. in the high school gym. While there is no charge, donations to go toward a theater department will be greatly appreciated.
