The Creekside Park Community Garden at 711 Royal Ave. in Eagle Point is now open for use by Eagle Point residents.
The Eagle Point Garden Club has been working on the property since 2003 to develop a place where community members could plant a garden or raise flowers. The site is owned by city.
The local Boy Scouts have helped with this project by building a large sign, a raised bed, a shed for storage and a double-sided bench. Local businesses have donated bark, large rocks and soil. All of this has made it possible to reach the Garden Club’s goal.
Members encourage community members to stop by and visit the garden. Those wishing space, which is free and even includes a handicapped section, should talk to Cathy Lopez at Heaven Scent Flowers & Gifts, in Ray’s Shopping Center.
