Man Jailed on many counts, including wrecking a Corvette

{gallery}07_14_09/corvette{/gallery}Bradley Craig Pereira, 49, was arrested by Medford PD and lodged in the Jackson County Jail on July 7 on the following charges: attempt to elude in a vehicle, reckless driving, hit and run, unauthorized use of motor vehicle, burglary I, trespass I, burglary II, theft III.

Apparently Pereira entered the home of Dave Hallett while Hallett was out of town. Hallett said Pereira cut his hair and/or shaved, showered, and generally made himself at home.

Pereira also took the Corvette that had been parked in the garage. It is understood that his next stop was a gas station where he failed to pay for service. That incident was reported and shortly thereafter Medford PD saw the Corvette in the vicinity of  Crater Lake Hwy. and I-5. Police were attempting to stop him when he increased his speed. Police started to chase after the Corvette but backed off when speeds became excessive. Pereira crashed, totaling the vehicle.

Pereira is the same person who was arrested on June 10 in the slow elude incident that started at Corey and Kershaw Rd. and continued until reaching Ayres Rd. This involved the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, OSP and Eagle Point Police. He was taken into custody and lodged on charges of attempting to elude police and DUII.
