Debbie Elder one of local artists at Aug. 8-9 ArtWalk

In keeping with the 150th birthday celebration of the State of Oregon, the 5th annual Shady Cove River ArtWalk, set for this weekend, August 8 & 9, will feature Debby Elder, from Shady Cove. Elder will present a collection of her historic paintings in watercolors. Elder’s  artwork will feature, the Oregon timber industry, ranching, rodeo, and Native American Mi Wuk Indians. Elder will be located on the “lower level” at Rogue River RV Park during the two-day show.

Elder has received numerous awards. She was commissioned by the Pear Orchard Association to paint the 2009 Poster for the 56th annual Pear Blossom celebration. Elder is an active member of the Upper Rogue Artist Association, Early Day Gas Engine & Tractor Association, and previously she and her husband Russell Elder were members of the Oregon Loggers Association.
